About Amanda:
My journey as a therapist began 10 years ago working through college coaching gymnastics and dance for preschool and special needs. I graduated as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in 2016 in NE Texas, where I worked in the Pediatric Home Health setting. In addition, I was involved in the development of community classes for children for self-regulation and socialization through garden-to-table food preparation and healthy/holistic daily living skills. After finishing my bachelor's degree in 2020, I moved to Austin to be closer to my family.
It is my mission to continue to educate children in healthy living, socialization through community programs, and physical development to promote improved independence of daily living skills. I am certified in the Zones of Regulation, Rhythm to Recovery, Gymnastics fundamentals and Safety, and Learning without Tears
Favorite Thing About Being a Therapist:
Successfully establishing a therapeutic relationship with each child is the most rewarding feeling to me. This means meeting the child in "their world" to understand their personal communication and processing styles before guiding them outside of their comfort zone. This kind of trusting relationship ensures that a child is able to thrive in continued development.
