WHY Free Play is Important
At a time when technology is often the go-to entertainment and babysitter for kids, smart moms and dads know there is wisdom in getting back to the basics. We believe that unstructured play is incredibly important in cultivating healthy minds while children learn about themselves and the world around them.

At Little Land Play Gym, we believe that play is fundamental to grow the imagination, creativity, and body. Plus, it’s just FUN!

Each component of our gym has been designed by pediatric development experts to support the growth of:

  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Sensory Processing
  • Speech and Language Skills
  • Social and Emotional Development

Pediatric Therapy

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on helping children with physical, sensory, or cognitive differences be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. OT can also enhance self-esteem and personal sense of accomplishment.

Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults; kids, after all, do not have occupations. But a child’s main job is playing and learning. Occupational therapists can evaluate kids’ skills for playing, school performance, and daily activities and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group. Conditions treated by an occupational therapist include:

  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Traumatic Injuries
  • Autism Developmental Disorders
  • Developmental Delays

Sensory Processing Fine Motor Skills

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy (PT) addresses conditions related to gross motor skills and treats conditions related to genetics, neurological, and orthopedic disorders. Physical therapist can help to enhance postural and motor control. Physical therapists help children increase endurance, strength, and flexibility.

For children who require mobility aids, we offer necessary training on effectively using the aids to help with strength training and endurance for:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Torticollis
  • Developmental Delay
  • Congenital Abnormalities
  • Decreased Coordination
  • Hypertonicity and Hypertonicity
Speech Therapy
Some kids have trouble saying certain sounds or words. This can be frustrating because others may have trouble understanding what they’re trying to say. Speech therapists help people of all ages with different speech and language disorders.

Lots of kids see speech therapists. It’s a great way to learn to speak more clearly. Sometimes a kid has a medical condition that makes speaking more difficult. Here are some of them:

  • hearing impairment
  • weak muscles around the mouth
  • cleft lip or palate
  • vocal nodules/ hoarseness
  • autism
  • breathing disorder
  • swallowing disorder
